Glacier Ice Margaritas

Last August my friends and I took a vacation to Alaska. We stayed on land except for a small trip out to the Glaciers. We chose Kenai Fjords Tours in Seward, Alaska. They were amazing. We saw all types of marine life and glaciers. The coolest thing however, was perhaps the margarita we had on board. I mean, who can say they had a margarita made with million year old ice?? I can! While back at the glacier, Lily, one of the crew members, took a fishing net and fished out huge chunks of ice. From there, they took it to the galley, and used an ice pick to break off chunks. Those chunks went into cups where they used a premade margarita mix. Ok, so maybe not the best tasting in the world, but pretty darn good, and that ice lasted way past the margarita. The ice was actually still in the cup when we finished the tour about 2 hours later. It was truly a once in a lifetime drink for sure!!
