So, a few years back a bunch of friends and family were all joking around and I said something like “My quest in life is to find the perfect margarita!”  and it stuck!  My kids even gave me an alias – MommaMaryRita.  For birthdays, and Christmas and Mother’s Day I’m showered with gifts that are alcohol related and usually at least one is Margarita related.  I don’t care.  I love it!  I’m at a stage in my life where my children are grown and married and have children of their own.  To tell the truth, I think they are kinda living vicariously through me!!  You see, I love to do Happy Hour.  I love to go to concerts.  I love to travel.  I love to drink.  When you put them all together, you get one nice vacation!!  Of course, Happy Hour is every Friday regardless of where I am!  My favorite saying is “It’s 5:00 Somewhere” and if you ever see a crossover SUV with Ohio license plates booking down the highway, you’ll know who is in that car by the plates! Just sayin….

So my youngest son approached me before my last cruise and told me I should start posting videos on UTube and start a blog about my search for the perfect Margarita, and I said “why not?”  And while I’m looking for that perfect concoction of tequila, lime juice, orange, triple sec or whatever else it may contain, I’ll also be trying all the other local drinks I encounter and reporting back.  Beer is a given.  There are breweries all over the world and Beer has quickly surpassed Wine as the number one drink in the world.  I love to try local beers so I’ll be reporting on those.  Wine? Yes please!!  One of my favorite things to do on a vacation or a trip, or lazy Saturday is to visit wineries/vineyards.  Love taking in the local flavors and what makes a wine maker tick.  Specialty drinks?  um, sure!! Just this past month I had a Banana Daiquiri, a Pina Colada that was to die for and a Sandy Vagina!!  More about those in my next blog.

So let my quest begin!  I will begin with my past preferences and my most recent trip but this will be a blog in process.  I will be building it monthly with new drinks, new places and if you have any suggestions as to where to find my glass of gold, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
